This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms and Conditions and Service Provider Terms.
1. How Our Service Works
Arcane is an appliance repair service that arranges and facilitates repairs performed by qualified independent service professionals (“Technicians”). Technicians are independent businesses and the merchant of record for Services they provide. Arcane may facilitate payments on behalf of Technicians as a limited payment collection agent.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We may collect:
- Account Information: name, email, phone number, password (hashed), and profile details.
- Booking Information: service address, appliance/service details, images/videos, notes, scheduling preferences.
- Communications: messages, emails, support tickets, and records of calls (where permitted).
- Provider Information: business name, EIN/SSN (as required), license/permit info, insurance certificates, payout account details (tokenized through payment processors), background screening consents where applicable.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
We may collect:
- Device and Usage Information: IP address, device IDs, browser/app details, pages viewed, clicks, logs, and diagnostic data.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: cookies, pixels, and local storage.
2.3 Payment Information
Payments are processed by third‑party Payment Processors. We typically receive payment status, tokenized payment identifiers, and limited details necessary for dispute/refund/chargeback handling. We generally do not store full payment card numbers.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the Platform;
- facilitate bookings and communications between Customers and Technicians;
- provide customer support, dispute intake tools, fraud prevention, and trust & safety;
- facilitate payments, refunds, and chargeback handling on behalf of Technicians where authorized;
- enforce our Terms, policies, and Platform integrity; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Technicians to enable them to provide Services you request.
- Customers as needed to complete a booking (e.g., Technician identity, business info).
- Payment Processors to process payments and related actions.
- Vendors/Service Providers for hosting, analytics, security, communications, and customer support.
- Legal/Compliance to comply with law, enforce agreements, and protect rights and safety.
- Business Transfers in connection with mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, or asset sales.
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary course. We may share information for targeted advertising only if implemented and disclosed, and where you have applicable rights to opt out.
